It’s also possible to spend quite a bit more exploring the many wonderful restraunts and night spots in Antigua or Guatemala City.
The excelent weather will drive real-estate values up as the work force transitions to working remotely. Who wouldn’t want to live in a wonderful climate if they could work from anywhere? This drives both home buying, but also the long and short term rental market as well.
In addition to steadly increasing in value, great opportunities like AirBnb exist to earn a nice yearly return on your investment.
While it’s probably best to buy an existing property if you are able, building on a lot offers benifites including spreading the payment out over the duration of the project. Rather than droping a large lump sum, divide a year long project into weekly payments if you can’t buy outright.
